Since 1975

Sea Sonic has spent five decades advancing PC power supply efficiency and build quality. In 2005 we brought the world’s first 80 PLUS® certified PC power supply to market, and in 2026 the PRIME ENTERPRISE RX-1600 became the first ATX power supply to earn 80 PLUS® Ruby certification.

Our Achievements

Active Power Factor Correction
Sea Sonic uses active PFC across its power supply range. Active circuits shape the input current to follow the AC waveform closely, achieving power factor above 0.95 at typical loads — well beyond what passive correction delivers. Higher power factor means less current is drawn for the same output, which reduces conduction losses and heat inside the unit and across the supply circuit feeding it.
High-quality components and reliable designs
Our PRIME and FOCUS platforms use Japanese electrolytic capacitors rated to 105°C, with conservative thermal headroom and extensive validation across load, temperature and transient conditions. Across the range, components are specified with margin rather than to the minimum a rating requires, which is what allows a unit to hold its rated output years into service. A power supply that keeps performing is one that does not need replacing.
Auto-insertion and surface-mount technology
Sea Sonic was an early adopter of auto-insertion and surface-mount manufacturing in power supply production. Automated placement delivers consistent, repeatable assembly quality across high volumes and removes a significant source of variation found in hand-built boards. Higher component density also allows more compact layouts, shorter current paths and better use of the available internal volume for airflow and heatsinking.
Long warranty term
We back our products with some of the longest warranties in the category: 12 years on PRIME or 10 years on FOCUS. Full terms, regional variations and claim procedures are set out in our warranty policy.

Our Partner

Sea Sonic worked with Ecos Consulting, which launched the 80 PLUS® program in 2004, to develop uniform efficiency standards for power supplies. The program is administered today by CLEAResult.

2005 and 2008

Sea Sonic was the first manufacturer in 2005 to bring an 80 PLUS® certified PC power supply to market: the Seasonic SS-400HT. Sea Sonic was the first company in 2008 to achieve 80 PLUS® GOLD certification.

2026

The program's highest tier is now 80 PLUS® Ruby, requiring 95% efficiency at 50% load on 115 V. The Seasonic PRIME ENTERPRISE RX-1600 is the first ATX power supply to earn it.
Test
ISO 14064-1 greenhouse gas verification

Sea Sonic Electronics Co., Ltd. has had its greenhouse gas inventory independently verified by SGS Taiwan against ISO 14064-1:2018. The verification covers direct and indirect emissions from the design and manufacture of switching power supplies across six sites, including our European operation in the Netherlands.

Independent verification means the inventory has been examined by a third party rather than self-declared, which gives us a measured baseline for reduction work.

The verification statement is published on our corporate website (Chinese), alongside our ISO 14067 product carbon footprint certificate.

Work with UNICEF

Considering the social aspects of sustainability, Sea Sonic believes that the education and the health of future generations are such important foundations that supporting these will make a significant difference in the long run. The reason why Sea Sonic chose to participate in the programs of UNICEF and the China Social Welfare Foundation is the desire to improve the living conditions and lives of the young by establishing a more stable future for them.

Fund’s Plastic Bricks initiative
For children in the Ivory Coast, Sea Sonic is a proud sponsor of the United Nations Children's Fund’s Plastic Bricks initiative.

This innovative program collects plastic waste and transforms them into safe and sustainable building materials at a low cost to build schools for local children.

Plastic is one of the worst pollutants in the world, and every step we take to help reduce this problem counts. By eliminating waste and repurposing plastic, at the same time, we can add more value to it by providing a safe space for children to get an education.
