PRIME Fanless PX makes the most sense when silence is a priority and the system does not need a high-wattage PSU. With 450 W and 500 W models available, it can work well for efficient desktop PCs, media systems and other builds where passive cooling is preferred. The difference is simply the available power. If 450 W comfortably covers your components, there is no need to move up just because 500 W is available. Both use a completely fanless design, but they cover different wattages and efficiency levels. Fanless PX comes in 450 W and 500 W with 80 PLUS Platinum certification. Fanless TX moves up to 600 W and 700 W and carries an 80 PLUS Titanium rating. If your system needs more than 500 W, PRIME Fanless TX is the natural step up.
It can be a useful option where PSU depth is limited. PRIME Fanless PX measures only 140 mm long, while still using the standard ATX/EPS form factor. Just remember that compact dimensions do not remove the need for ventilation, especially with a PSU that relies entirely on passive cooling. Yes, with the correct cable. PRIME Fanless PX can use a compatible Seasonic 2×8-pin to 12V-2×6 cable, but it does not support a native PSU-side 12V-2×6 cable.
