Digital Hybrid Fan Control

Seasonic’s vast experience in designing the most silent and efficient power supplies on the market was translated into the development of Hybrid Mode; a state-of-the-art digital fan control that enables users to keep the overall fan noise at the lowest possible level.

Fluid Dynamic Fan Bearing

High performance Fluid Dynamic Bearing (FDB) fans are designed to take advantage of the impact absorbance effects of oil. They are extremely reliable and generate considerably less operating noise and heat than ball bearing fans. The lubrication of the bearing surface reduces friction and vibration and therefore lowers overall power consumption. Due to the effortless, quieter rotations and its robust construction, this reliable fan technology also greatly increases the lifespan of the fan.

  • When the fan shaft rotates, high pressure oil drifts along the grooves of the bearing sleeve to generate a thin layer of lubrication between the bearing faces.
  • As the speed increases, so does dynamic oil pressure and the shaft is lifted from the bearing to create smooth, effortless rotations. The herringbone shape of the groves helps to efficiently channel the lubricant and avert leakage.

Recommended 12V-2×6 Cable Installation

  • BOTH 12V-2×6 connectors of your 12V-2x6 cable must always be plugged into your power supply, ensuring they are FULLY INSERTED, CLICK-LOCKED, and TIGHT.
  • DO NOT bend or apply force to the cable after it is plugged into place.

FAQ

VERTEX GX covers a wide range of modern gaming PCs and workstations, with 750 W, 850 W, 1000 W and 1200 W models available. All four use a fully modular design, support ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1, and include 12V-2×6 connectivity for compatible graphics cards.
That depends mainly on the CPU, graphics card and the rest of the system. A 750 W or 850 W model may already be enough for many gaming builds, while 1000 W and 1200 W are there for systems with higher total power requirements. The Wattage Calculator can help narrow down the right model before buying.
The two certification programs do not test efficiency in the same way, so their tier names do not always match. VERTEX GX is 80 PLUS Gold across the range, while the current Seasonic specifications list Cybenetics Platinum for the 750 W, 850 W and 1000 W models, and Gold for the 1200 W. That does not mean one certification is wrong; they use different test methods and criteria.
Yes. The current ATX 3.1 versions include a native 12V-2×6 cable for compatible graphics cards. Earlier VERTEX units were originally shipped with 12VHPWR before the series moved to the revised 12V-2×6 connector.
It uses the standard ATX/EPS form factor and measures 160 mm in length. That fits many cases, but PSU depth is still worth checking, especially if the case has a drive cage or limited room for modular cables.
