Is PRIME Fanless TX really fanless?
Yes. There is no fan inside the power supply, so it produces no fan noise at any load. Cooling is completely passive, with heat dissipated through the PSU chassis and internal heatsinks. This makes it especially interesting for PCs where keeping noise as low as possible is a priority.
Does a fanless PSU need a particular installation position?
Yes, ventilation is important because the PSU relies on natural heat dissipation instead of a fan. In a typical bottom-mounted case, Seasonic recommends installing a fanless PSU with the ventilation cover facing upward. The ventilation area should also remain unobstructed so heat can escape properly.
Why is high efficiency especially useful in a fanless power supply?
A more efficient PSU wastes less energy as heat, which is particularly useful when all cooling is passive. PRIME Fanless TX carries an 80 PLUS Titanium rating and reaches 94% efficiency at 50% load under the certification conditions. Less wasted energy means less heat that the fanless design must dissipate.
Is PRIME Fanless TX an ATX 3.1 power supply?
No. PRIME Fanless TX is not part of Seasonic's ATX 3.1 lineup and uses standard PCIe 6+2-pin GPU connections rather than a native 12V-2×6 connection. If ATX 3.1, PCIe 5.1 or native 12V-2×6 support is important for your build, you can browse our current ATX 3.1 power supplies instead.
Can PRIME Fanless TX be used for a gaming PC?
Yes, as long as 600 W or 700 W is suitable for the complete system and the required connectors are available. A fanless PSU does not have to be limited to office or media PCs.
