New FDB Fans

Sea Sonic will upgrade all current models of its S12G-, G-, M12II-, and S12II-series power supplies with Fluid Dynamic Bearing (FDB) fans. These high-performance FDB fans are durable and generally quieter than the Double Ball Bearing (DBB) fans and therefore enhance the functionality of our power supplies. The following chart summarizes the main characteristics of the FDB fans:

As compared to FDB fans, DBB fans generally operate at an increasingly higher noise levels through time. For example:

• DBB fans produce about 150 % higher noise then FDB fans after 1 year of continuous operation
• DBB fans produce about 160 % higher noise then FDB fans after 2 years of continuous operation
• DBB fans produce about 170 % higher noise then FDB fans after 3 years of continuous operation

The great advantage of FDB fans lies in their decreased noise level which remains permanently low even after a long period of usage to make any working environment more pleasant.
