Digital Hybrid Fan Control

Seasonic’s vast experience in designing the most silent and efficient power supplies on the market was translated into the development of Hybrid Mode; a state-of-the-art digital fan control that enables users to keep the overall fan noise at the lowest possible level.
Note: The Digital Hybrid Fan Control chart is provided for reference only. The shape of the curve can look different due to the variability in ambient temperature, system set-up, air flow, and other unpredictable factors.

Noctua NF-A12x25 Fan

The key to the Noctua Edition’s further improved acoustic performance is Noctua’s renowned NF-A12x25 120mm fan: Ensuring the same safe operating temperature of all internal components, it runs another ~8-10dB(A) quieter than the regular model’s already quiet 135mm fan across the entire fan speed range.

  • The NF-A12x25’s impeller is made from Noctua’s novel Sterrox® liquid-crystal polymer (LCP) compound that features extreme tensile strength, an exceptionally low thermal expansion coefficient and damping characteristics that are ideal for reducing resonance and vibration phenomena in advanced fan-blade designs.
  • Many power supply fan grill designs are driven by aesthetic considerations and ignore basic acoustic and aerodynamic principles. By contrast, the fan grill of the TX-1600 Noctua Edition has been custom designed and carefully optimised to ensure smooth pressure gradients when the fan blades pass, which results in higher airflow performance and lower noise emission.

Recommended 12V-2×6 Cable Installation

  • BOTH 12V-2×6 connectors of your 12V-2x6 cable must always be plugged into your power supply, ensuring they are FULLY INSERTED, CLICKED-LOCKED, and TIGHT.
  • DO NOT bend or apply force to the cable after it is plugged into place.

FAQ

The Noctua Edition is based on the PRIME TX-1600 platform, but its cooling and acoustic design have been reworked together with Noctua. It uses a Noctua NF-A12x25 120 mm fan, a specially designed fan grille, and black-and-brown individually sleeved cables. The electrical specifications remain based on the PRIME TX platform, including 80 PLUS Titanium efficiency, ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 support. You can compare it with the standard PRIME TX ATX 3.1 series.
The Noctua NF-A12x25 fan and the custom fan grille reduce noise by approximately 8–10 dB(A) compared with the regular PRIME TX-1600 across the fan speed range, while maintaining safe operating temperatures. The PSU also carries a Cybenetics Lambda A++ acoustic rating. You can read more about how the collaboration was developed in our PRIME TX-1600 Noctua Edition article.
No. The PRIME TX-1600 Noctua Edition uses Digital Hybrid Fan Control, so the fan can remain off when active cooling is not required. As load or internal temperature increases, the fan starts automatically and adjusts its speed according to cooling demand. If you want to understand how the different fan modes work, see our guide to Seasonic Hybrid Fan Control.
Not at every input voltage. The PSU can provide its full 1600 W output with 115–240 V AC input. At 100 V AC, the maximum continuous output is 1300 W. This is worth checking in regions that use 100 V mains power, especially for systems with very high power requirements. If you are unsure how much power your PC actually needs, our Wattage Calculator can help you size the PSU for the complete system.
The PRIME TX-1600 Noctua Edition includes two native 12V-2×6 cables for compatible high-power graphics cards, along with six traditional PCIe 6+2-pin cables. When using 12V-2×6, make sure the connector is fully inserted and locked in place and avoid applying force or a sharp bend close to the connector. For more information about the connector and correct installation, see our Native 12V-2×6 Cable Guide.
